In order to raise strong, healthy children we
must feed our children healthy food. Your child
will never eat junk food at my house. There will
be no candy, no potato chips, no soda, no French
fries. I do not see a need for these kinds of
foods in a child care facility. Every day your
child will be offered at least two servings of
fruits and two servings of vegetables. If
available and cost effective, I will substitute
foods with whole grain and/or organic foods.

Fruit depends on the season, but will be a variety of the following: bananas, grapes, raisins, pineapple, apples, pears,
berries, peaches, etc.
Vegetables will consist of: green beans, broccoli, zucchini, cucumbers, corn, potatoes, carrots, celery, etc.
Children are never forced to eat. All scheduled meals will be offered. If they refuse to eat, they will not eat again until
the next meal. If there is a specific food that your child does not like, I will do my best to substitute that with something
else. Of course, if your child is allergic to anything, I will never serve it.
*As reported in America's Children: Key National Indicators of Well-Being (2007), "The proportion of children
ages 6-17 who were overweight increased from 6 percent in 1976-1980 to 11 percent in 1988-1994 and
continued to rise to 18 percent in 2003-2004."
